During the pandemic, many employers have had to deal with long term care and disability of employees. Join our expert, Tamika Nelson with Unum, to get answers to your questions.

Changes in FMLA Regulations and the ADA

This presentation is designed for brokers, insurance professionals and employers and provides a review of the most significant Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations and changes in the American Disabilities Act (ADA).

The first part of the presentation covers the five most common mistakes employers make related to the FMLA regulations. In addition, best practices are presented to assist employers with properly applying these FMLA regulations for compliance and operational effectiveness.

The second part of the presentation covers the requirements of the ADA and how to evaluate a request for workplace assistance.   Employers will learn what to focus on regarding employees with a disability, actions to take, possible defenses, and how to train management in response to these changes.  In addition, legal ramifications of non-compliance will be reviewed.

Our speaker is TAMIKA NEWSON, Assistant Vice President and Legal Counsel in Unum's Law Group.
