Our presenter is MAITHE ENRIQUEZ, PhD, APRN, FAAN, Graduate Program Director for Research College of Nursing.
Dr. Enriquez has a wealth of experience as a nurse and in particular in infectious diseases. She received her BSN from Webster University, her MSN from UMKC, APRN (Adult Nurse Practitioner) and PhD in Nursing from UMKC, and a Certificate in Public Health from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
She was an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing, UMKC, and then at the Sinclair School of Nursing at University of Missouri-Columbia. This was followed by being Director of the Participatory Health Research Graduate Certificate Program at UM-Columbia before becoming Graduate Program Director, NP Track Coordinator at Research College of Nursing.
Clinically, she has been a nurse practitioner at Truman Medical Center, Infectious Disease Associates, Metro ID Consultants, and currently at Stowers Institute for Medical Research.
Dr. Enriquez has won numerous awards, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She has also participated over the years in numerous grants and contracts.
